One of the things I’ve always loved about earning a living from playing the bass guitar is that I’m always learning new songs…
… sometimes these songs aren’t tunes I’d typically play… but when you dig into them there’s often far more than initially meets the eye.
Last weekend we had a request to play ‘Once’ which is a Liam Gallagher (of Oasis fame) song.
This song really caught my ear because it’s got a great groove which as bass players we can approach from so many different angles.
So I thought I’d make a quick lesson on how to break ‘Once’ down into 4 simple sections and show you the kind of bass lines that I would play over this song.
Plus I’m also going to give you a copy of the chord chart I wrote out for this song so you can see exactly how I’d write it down and learn it section by section.
This will allow you to start playing this song in less than 5 minutes...
Don’t forget to download the free PDF chord chart - it’ll be super helpful with this lesson 😉
Keep groovin’ hard,
James
