Hey, James here!
In today's fun video, we're going to see something really cool. Our top eBassGuitar coach, Freddie Draper, is going to try a challenge called "Catching the Bus." It's all about seeing what bass lines he can make up on the spot!
Freddie will be given three sets of chord sequences in different styles that he's never heard before. Then, without any time to practice, he'll make up bass lines right there on the spot. We'll record it all so you can watch too!
The reason I'm doing this challenge is I'm absolutely fascinated to hear what bass players play on the fly when they're just thrown in at the deep end. We will see the creativity and adaptability behind these bass lines, and I believe it offers valuable insights into the artistry of musicianship.
Here's how it'll go down: I'll give Freddie the chords, and he'll start playing around with them. Then, he'll make up a bass line and play it for us. After that, we'll write down the bass line so you can see it too!
Are you curious to see what Freddie comes up with? If you want to learn from him, you can download the free PDF with all the music he makes today.
Freddie's one of our coaches on a brand new course that we put out at eBassGuitar called "Hear It Play It". And one of the skills that we teach in there is called "Catching the Bus," where you listen to a song or the chord sequence for the very first time.
So, let's have some fun together! Watch Freddie as he catches the bus and makes up awesome bass lines right on the spot.

I'll see you next week!
